Just a hello!

Just wanted to say hello to all. Thank you for all the great posts. I have learn so much here.
I have 3 slow growing nodules on right foot, two new ones on left and one pad on left ring finger knuckle. I see an ortho surgeon who advises me to hang in there until the shot is FDA approved.
Being newly diagnosed with breast cancer and undergoing mastectomy, I now have to exercise more often in order to prevent a distant reoccurance of bone, liver, lungs and brain, so I have to see my ortho doc in 2 weeks to get padding for my sneakers. Must walk 1/2 hour a day for 5 days a week.
Looking forward to getting to know all!

Re: Just a hello!

Hi Australia Calling,
I have been wearing orthodics in my shoes for 8 years. In the last 12 months I received low dose radiotherapy in Germany for Ledderhose with good results. The Prof. suggested trying a Nike Free sneaker ( I know we are not to advertise)as I was having a problem walking ,with a lump on the ball of my foot. I took his advice and they helped greatly. They are light with a good innersole and the base is segmented to give the feeling of walking bare feet. On my return, I went to my podiotrist and in my normal shoes, he decided it was not necessary to wear the orthodics. He placed a 2-3 mill thick rubber type sole ,under the inner sole. Double thickness under the heel. It's now like walking on air. This info. might help. I forgot to add ,that on the underside of the shoe ,it is possible to grind down 1mill or so of a segment, which would reduce pressure on any lump on the base of the foot. Regards.
