Re: Newby from Down Under
I have Ledderhose, though not severely (it got better over time and my Dupuytren's is much worse), and I always walk barefooted when I can. Not much outside really because my soles are too tender for walking on gravel and I am afraid of ticks when walking on grass. But walking barefoot is convenient and I consider it normal and healthy, not so sure about shoes ... if you enjoy walking without shoes, I would do it.

Re: Newby from Down Under
Hi John,
This has been an informative log, thanks for posting it.
I was recently diagnosed with DC (33 M) and am looking for options regarding RT in Sydney - did you just use the contact details for Dr Izard on this website?
Thanks, Adam

Re: Newby from Down Under
Hi Adam
Check your in box for my mob number, give me call tomorrow if you want and we can talk at length.
Now an update a year after RT
Was it worth it? Yes, after the post treatment pain the nodes are still there, however, smaller than before and probably less painful in general, still hate ladders and lucky stones in the river.
Would I advise others to do it? Yes, but expect sore feet in the bargain for quite some time
Are they fixed? No, but much better Feet are still always cold
Looking at other treatment? Not at this stage, unless something comes along that looks like a good thing
Cheers, John

Re: Newby from Down Under
Hi John It is now about 2.5 yrs post RT, how are the feet going?
I am about to embark on RT on my right foot. I will go to the same radiologist who treated DD on both hands with success.
I live in Brisbane.
Cheers
Stephen

Re: Newby from Down Under
Hi I am in Adelaide.AU. I had both feet treated in Germany by Prof. Seegenschmied back in 2007. It stopped the Ledderhose and the nodule in the arch has disappeared. I try when I can to walk barefoot in the sea for around an hour. If you cant get to the sea soak your feet in salt water which will help harden the skin. In my case the period between each session was about 12 weeks , which allowed the Prof. to re-evaluate the area . After treatment I used Urederm Cream from Hamilton contains 10% Urea will help to keep your skin moist and healthy.(still use it today from time to time) The Protocal was 5X3GY total of 30GY. Wear good quality lace up shoes with Innersoles. In Summer- Birenstocks Sandals. Good Luck.

Re: Newby from Down Under
Hi Stephennp
Personally I consider it a success to some extent. The nodes have basically stopped growing, however, still sore to put pressure on them. My feet are very sensitive now and the skin on the inside edge of each feet front ball seems to be growing much faster to the point I grind the dead built up skin off about each 2 weeks otherwise it get painfull to walk on them. Would I do this again if ness, yes. Good luck with your choice of treatment and I hope all goes well for you. Cheers, John

Re: Newby from Down Under
Hi try not grinding the area but soak your feet in salt water or Epson Salts for at least half and hour and then using your finger nails remove the loose dead tissue. When dry use cream containing Urea. You can try using a stone each time you shower. Don't be aggressive a bit at a time is best and finish with a fine stone. Good Luck.
