Re: Newby from Down Under
Last hit today! Yipee.
Left foot (worst foot) the nodes started to get painful from day 4, right foot just supper sensitive (nodes are smaller), (my guys reckon I am walking like I have a beer bottle up my a#se). Pain level left foot 8/10, right foot 6/10. Today, same deal.
Easy weekend this weekend, sit around and not do much, a few beers and muck around in the garden (Spring in OZ).
I am glad I am not working full time next week, just go in for a few hours to my site jobs, hoping by the end of the week it would have settled down.
Cheers, John

Re: Newby from Down Under
Interesting that you've had so much reaction, some people get almost nothing, others a bit of heat and reddening and so on. At least you get the reassurance that something is really going on. Let's hope it's a successful outcome.

Re: Newby from Down Under
Week after 2nd round of RT. Feet are still very sore, pain level left foot 7/10, right foot 7/10. Balls, heals, side of feet and the nodes. Worst in morning until pain killers kick in. Got a bit of skin blistering this time and both feet are swollen a bit (probably from walking like a duck). Putting vitamin E moisturizer on twice a day. Things can only get better. Not looking forward to going back to work next week.

Re: Newby from Down Under
Week 2 after 2nd round of RT. Feet are still sore / sensitive, pain level left foot 5/10, right foot 5/10. Worked all week but left my boot laces undone and took boots off when I could. Back and leg muscles starting to feel strange as I am walking wrong. Still using vitamin e cream twice a day.

Re: Newby from Down Under
Can you share if you are taking drugs for other conditions as sometimes some can exacerbate the (side) effects of RT. But in any case your radiologist would know.

Re: Newby from Down Under
Hi I suggest you search the forum (top left) .Type Glucosamine. Many have suggested to stop taking this product.
I would use a cream containing 10% Urea which replaces the moisture and not the Vitamin E. Wear cotton socks and shoes with good inner soles. After Rt I was recommended by Prof Seegenschmiedt to use urea. Walk around without wearing shoes was also recommended .
Try soaking your feet in cool /cold water -even salty water, dry and apply the Urea. The Vit. E is great after surgery to help the healing and reduce scarring.

Re: Newby from Down Under
Yeh, I know Glucosamine is public enemy No.1, however, if I go off it all my joints creak so bad I sound like a rusty door. Used Urea cream after the 1st round and found it didn't make an real improvements. With the DC op's I used the vitamin E cream so I gave it a go. Still put the urea cream on before work, vitamin E midday and night, covering both bases.
I am using paracetamol with 15% codeine which get things a bit better without having to go to Panadene forte or endone. I think my feet are just super sensitive after the procedure.
Last time it took 4 weeks to settle, so I am expecting just as much or more this time round. Hoping the net result will be good
Cheers, John

Re: Newby from Down Under
Glucosamine might affect Dupuytren's but it's only a "might". Science is not sure about it (maybe check the comment at the bottom of http://www.dupuytren-online.info/dupuytr..._therapies.html ). I would continue using it if it is helping your joints and facilitates walking.

Re: Newby from Down Under
That's why I continue to use it. If there was a cost effective alternative I would try it.
