Hi footy, even if you had surgery it's not sure it won't come back and maybe even more aggressively than before. Have had a look at the Ledderhose pages of this site (on the left menu)? They might provide useful information. For Ledderhose radiotherapy seems to be a viable way to treat it without surgery, possibly this might be an option for you, too. Others might be injection of cortizone or cryo. You need to consult a doctor who is familiar with the various treatment possibilities. In the mean time keep walking, for most of us keeping the feet busy seems to reduce pain.

It must be so annoying to deal both with plantar fibromatosis and plantar fasciitis on the same foot...I have both, but my plantar fasciitis is in remission...I've had it for years and when it flurs up it can last for months and months...just be patient.

For my plantar fasciitis I've had multiple cortisone injections in my heel (but be careful you shouldn't have more than 3 cortisone shots in a year), but I would rather suffer from the pain than consider surgery for it...from all that I have read about surgery of any kind on your foot, the recovery is hard and long.... and recurrence is very probable anyway in Ledderhose as well as plantar fasciitis, since its a disease that never goes away, but only goes into remission...

For me, stretching exercises have shown to be very effective for my plantar fasciitis when its active. Also icing the foot after you stand on your feet or walk alot is a must. Have you tried wearing a special night splint (like a very heavy boot)...the idea is to keep your foot at a 90 degree angle at night, and you must strech the back of your leg before putting the foot on the floor in the morning.

My two nodules (plantar fibromatosis) ...I treated them with radiation therapy...very effective...the nodules are much softer and much smaller...

50 year old diabetic, sleep apnoea UK had plantar fas in heels couple years ago 'cured' with insole/ice/exercise. Now got lump under foot...diagnosos so far fibroma...awaiting scan. Cannot believe pain/speed of onset so far and how debilitating this is...not to mention horrors that lay in future. Work full time...worried sick about future. Any advice welcome.

I had cryo, and the heel pain is totally gone! Bilateral LD and DD - the cryo worked great on getting rid of the heel pain. I won't lie though - the numbing shotes hurt like $%%*(

I have suffered from plantar fasciitis for 20+ years. I have spent thousands of dollars on orthotics and shoes and NOTHING has helped. I had surgery on my hand last year for Dupuytren's and I knew the knots were also growing in my feet. I have had many cortisone shots in both feet for the plantar fasciitis, but the Ledderhose disease I have not had anything done yet. The pain is so bad it wakes me up in the middle of the night. I have seen MANY doctors that all said they wouldn't touch me. My only option was to find a train track and let a train cut my feet off. Yes, the pain is THAT bad. Then last week, I FINALLY found a doctor that said he would help me. I go for an MRI (first one ever offered in 20+ years) and he talked that because of me having both conditions really bad that my option at this point is to remove the entire plantar fascia along with all the knots.
My job requires me to be not only on my feet 7 1/2 hours out of an 8 hour day, but constantly walking (production work). I cry every day at work, I can't take it anymore.
Has anyone ever received Social Security Disability for the conditions of Duypuytren's and Ledderhose disease?

I had when I hear of others that suffer from this, I know exactly what you are going through. I just hate the fact there is no cure or at least an easy and quick fix.
