Massage?
Hi,
what are your thoughts / experiences with massaging the area subject to Dupuytrens contracture?
I`ve heard that this could provocate so that the tissue contracts even more??

Re: Massage?
Hi Laila, welcome to our forum!
Stretching of the contracture might possible aggravate the disease but pressure massage has been reported by several patients as useful to make the tissue softer and reduce nodule size http://www.dupuytren-online.info/dupuytr...s_research.html (you have to scroll to the bottom of that page to get to "massaging"). A few similar comments popped up in our recent survey of patients http://www.dupuytren-online.info/patient_survey.html. This is all anecdotal evidence, not more and not less. I think it is always worth a try. To see results you have to be persistent and probably massage daily over several months.
