Psoriasis, arthritis anyone?

I just joined the forum a couple of weeks ago, after being diagnosed with L.D. Within these two weeks, I have already begun developing D.D., and appear to now have psoriasis on the back of both hands. Just prior to all of this, I had a day of slight fever, feeling like a bad cold, followed by a week of moderate-severe joint pain. Of course, by the time I could get an MD appointment, most things had returned to normal, except the L.D. which showed-up on MRI.
I am awaiting lab results to detect autoimmune/arthritis, and will see my GP on Thursday, regarding this new symptom in my hands.
I would like to know if others have had similar experiences.
Thanks!

Hi Marjorie, Good idea to get your Vitamin D level checked too -there is a lot of emerging evidence that low Vitamin D levels are implicated in most of the conditions you have - and read the posts on this forum entitled "lack of sunlight and auto-immune disease. Good Luck and feel better!

Re: Psoriasis, arthritis anyone?

Hi!
if it is any comfort, yes I have psoriasas arthritis. I got DC and PA at about the same time, 10 years ago. Now I have had two DC-surgeries, one sucessful, the latter....well I am still having a shitty time with it.
Not all surgeries are sucessfull, so please think twice about the options you have got.

My latter surgery was performed in Spain mid November. I am still in treatment after having av "hospital-infection" in the wound.
As I am allergic to different kinds of antibiotics, they have been struggeling to disminue the infection.
Three months after the surgery I cannot use my hand, all joint are stiff, my hand is swollen, and I am in constant pain.
The physio in the hospital says it will take a lot of work to get my hand functioning again. We are talking months - and I do not know if I ever will be able to use the hand.
It is no fun at all, because the surgery was done in my good hand. Now I try to learn to write with my right hand, and do my daily work with one hand.
The healing prosess becomes a lot more difficult while also having psoriasis arthritis. I struggle with inflammation in my all my finger-joints....which makes it difficult to losen up facias and joints.

I have put in over 70 days in the hospital since November, I will not go through a surgery like this again. Luckily the first one tunred out well, and my right hand is - apart from PA-problems - more or less free from DC.
