Using topical Super Saturated Potassium Iodine for Dupuytren nodes is not safe

I have been using topical SSKI on my Dupuytren's node for almost a year and then my routine blood test showed abnormal thyroid function-TSH was much lower than the standard norm. An endocrinologist has suggested I stop using SSKI. After two months my TSH got back to normal!!!

Thanks for this info, ... and did this 'treatment' help the Dupuytren's?

Re: Using topical Super Saturated Potassium Iodine for Dupuytren nodes is not safe

I have been diagnosed with the DC about one year ago when I noticed a small node on my palm. Since then I have started using topical SSKI and the node was not increasing in size, but I was not sure that SSKI helped as it probably would be the same without using SSKI

And how were you applying it? Rates, quantity, schedule?

I applied SSKI two times a day about 2-3, sometimes even more, drops to both palms as I had a small node on the right palm and a cord on the left one.

Thanks for letting us know. I've been researching iodine, potassium, and magnesium treatments and this is my biggest concern, so I will be monitoring my TSH and other blood work.

Best,
Chris
