I would be curious to learn if any of you have developed boutonniere deformity following Xiaflex treatment. I was treated a year ago in my RH little finger, which had contracted to almost 100%. I was extremely happy with the results initially, as that finger returned to 80-90% positioning and function. However, approximately 6 months later I started to notice the finger assume an unusual shape, in which its joint remained as high as the adjoining finger joints, but the finger sections either side of that sloped downward. Ultimately the slope on each side became more dramatic and now is very pronounced. I researched online and discovered this condition to be boutonniere deformity. I know that my DD was extremely severe, with cords wound substantially around tendons and bone in that little finger--enough to the extent that two previous doctors did not want to engage in treating me. I am guessing that the extent of my DD in the little finger resulted in the permanent damage via boutonniere deformity, but am curious as to the prevalence of that deformity in patients who used Xiaflex.
