Re: Collogenase injections
Hi there,Ive had 3 injections in my right hand and will get number 4 in 2 weeks.First is swelling i had alot with the multiple injection. It was no were near as bad with the single injection last month.IT will itch also so take benedryl with you for the itching.Depending on how bad and how long your contracture is you might get a skin splt my pinky was bad and it has taken a good month to heal.Doc treated it with silver nitrate to help with the scaring.Your finger will want to contract after and it will so start night and day splinting as soon as possible,I had my manipulations on wedsday and i am back to work on monday cutting meat so the down time is great. There is some tenderness arround the treated area.Good Luck Dave

Hi
I had my hand treated with xiapex at derby last week. First day three painful injections into ring finger and palm then hand wrapped in small bandage, some swelling but no real discomfort overnight did not need painkillers.
Day after received injection of anaesthetic into palm to numb hand and then manipulation of finger which hurts. No skin splitting but a couple of blood blisters swelling is now reducing after 3 days the finger is very sore where it joins hand. wearing splint at night to keep it straight. Think it will be a week or two before I can see the full improvement but its definitely better than it was. -Good Luck
