Covid Vaccine?
Hello all...Just wondering, could the Covid vaccine cause any problems with Dupuytren, make it worse or activate it again?
Maybe some of you had the vaccine and can tell us if there was a problem. Any info would be greatly appreciated......Thanks. Christl

Re: Covid Vaccine?
Hi Christl,
I haven't had the vaccine yet but I would not expect any influence on Dupuytren's. I am vaccinated against a pile of diseases but never observed an effect on my Dupuytren's. Why should the covid vaccination be any different? When I get a chance for a covid vaccination I will have it. Getting covid is not neccessarily severe but it can be and can have long term side effects. Better not get it.

Re: Covid Vaccine?
Good morning, I'm late 70's amd had my Pfizer Covid jab 13 th January, and had no problems with the DD at all, it didn't enter my head that there might be actually! I just had a painful arm. I'm in the very early stages of DD.
Regards.
Narla.

Re: Covid Vaccine?
I've had the first dose of the Moderna vaccine. No impact on Dupuytren. Moderately sore arm for a few days but no other side effects from 1st dose.

Re: Covid Vaccine?
I had a Moderna vaccine and both hands have been inflamed ever since. The Dupuytren had been quiet for 3 months before that. Would be interested if anyone else has had the same experience.

Somebody on one of the FB groups with LD reported that their feet had become inflamed after receiving Moderna.
Also there is a paper reporting inflammatory skin reaction linked to the vaccine, in patients who have received, relatively higher doses of, RT for cancer. Have you had RT for your hands? https://www.redjournal.org/article/S0360...WdzuHF0m7nT1BBE
I had two doses AZ, no affect on hands, strange blood clot on arm not at the injection site.

Re: Covid Vaccine?
There seems to be a broad range of reactions after Covid vaccination. I had Moderna without any effect on my Dupuytrens. I had no side effects at all after the first vaccination, but after the second side effects were pretty heavy. On the second day it started with dizziness, then heavy sweating, nausea next, and finally I could not stop throwing up. Next day it was all gone.

Re: Covid Vaccine?
I had both Moderna doses in February/March without any Dupuytren's impact. Side effects were the usual - moderately sore arm (both) slight sluggishness (1st dose), mild headache (2nd dose). Symptoms largely lasted about 1 day, 100 % gone by end of 2nd day.
