Dupuytren in Feet/ Woman
Hi I am in my 40's and a year ago diagnosed with Dupytrens Contracture in both feet. It is hard for me to find any info. re: this disease in the feet.
I was a flight attendent and at age 22 years knew that there was something wrong with my feet. Cramping, pain and nodules on the bottom. Yet I never had it checked until I could no longer bear the pain. Fifteen years ago my Father, 70 years old, was diagnosed with this in both hands severe with 3 surgeries under his belt. He is still in a lot of pain and needs another one soon. His sister, in her 60's also has Dupuytren's in her hands. Unfortunatly it does run in my family. We are of Spanish/ Yugoslavia decent. He is a drinker, I am not.
I am so glad to find this forum! Thank you for being here!
There was something very interesting that I have noticed with the Dupuytren's in both of my feet, every time I get my menstral periods the pain in my feet and nodules get intense. Have any other woman in this forum noticed anything like this or am I just nuts???

Re: Dupuytren in Feet/ Woman
Wendy:
I believe that Duputren's in the feet is referrred to by a different name -Ledderhose Disease.
So, I suggest that you check out that Forum on this Website.

Re: Dupuytren in Feet/ Woman
Thank you Mark.
I think that I need to go back to my Podiatrist and see why she gave me the diagnoses of "Dupuytren Contracture" for both of my feet! Thank you for letting me know.
No wonder I couldn't find anything on the web re: Dupuytrens for the feet. I will ck. out the Ledderhose forum.
Thanks again, Wendy
