Could I have Dupuytren~sq~s?

I have a pea-sized nodule on my finger-ring tendon, almost 1/2" from the center of my palm. I also have a ridge that runs at an angle for about 1 1/4" from this nodule, towards my index finger. There is no pain. My hand and fingers function normally. I first noticed the nodule in January, when it seemed to appear quite suddenly.
Is there another condition this could be besides Dupuytren's?

Catherine:

I had the same symptons you describe exactly and had surgery performed to remove the nodule because I WANTED TO WEAR RINGS ( ah vanity ) and they no longer fit!
Doctor diagnosed this nodule as a Dupuytren's contracture condition. I had surgery and 6 months later MANY nodules appeared on the palm of that same hand and now also on the OTHER hand (and FEET)
My advice:
Do NOT have ANY surgery on your hand unless fingers are contracted so that you cannot use them!
This is my own PERSONAL opinion.
Good luck, Miriam
