I had excellent health, normal weight,no problems whatsoever until lump in foot at 33 years old. Was informed it was DC. Meant nothing to me at the time. No further advice. No further problems with this foot though lump returned to a lesser degree (do not envisage any other foot problems at this point). Next thing lump in right foot, but did nothing. Forgot about whole thing. Frozen shoulder 4 years later - did not associate with Dupuytrens. Then other shoulder 2 years later. 2001 swelling left PIP joint, to a lesser extent right PIP joint. Rapid bending of (left)finger between May and December of 2001 and opted for surgery. Compentent surgeon. Fully corrected at time. But finger has bent since, but I think more due to scar tissue than Dup (still an improvement). Other finger has also started to bend. Very distressing for me. I just wish there was more research into this awful, distressing complaint.

I had surgery on my right foot a number of years ago to remove a large lump on the sole of my foot and a couple of years ago it reappeared on my foot and then another lump on the side of my foot and now one on top of my big toe. Additionally, one has come up on my left foot, the thumb on my right hand, the adjacent index finger is being affected and now I have two lumps on my left hand and one on my left ring finger on the inside at the joint. OK - so do I have surgery again on my hand by a hand surgeon or go to another surgeon and have them all removed at once. I am so confused and depressed at these latest manifestations. I am a 56 yo WF who is really reasonably good health (except for the arthritis and ulcer). I feel like - OK - so what else can go wrong. I am scheduled to see a hand surgeon on the 24th and I guess I will make a decision on my hand then. Anyone with some good advice - or an alternative approach to this problem.
