I am a 56 yo WF and I had a rather large nodule removed from my right foot 10 years ago and other than a nasty scar that was pretty much all there was until a couple of years ago when I had another one appear adjacent to the old one only further up on the inside of my foot. Approximately two months ago I had a nodule (and very painful I might say) appeared on the thumb of my right hand on the outside. My "trigger" finger has started contracture and I don't want to wait until it is completly curled to have surgery. I play the keyboard and on the computer all day at work, so needless to say I need my fingers and hands. I also have Arthritis and my rheumatologist recommended to me several months ago to start taking Glucosamine and Chondroitin for my arthritis. I cannot use the other conventional drugs for arthritis due to a stomach ulcer. Now all of a sudden I have two nodules on the base of my thumb on my left hand and a small one on my knuckle (inside). Just Saturday I was working in the yard and thought I had hurt my big toe on my left foot - but upon looking real good - I discovered a large nodule which "just appeared". Not only do I know that it is physically there but it hurts as well as my thumb. I stumbled upon an article which relates the rapid growth of D/C with Glucosamine/Chondroitin. I believe there is because suddenly out of nowhere I have all of these nodules with sudden major growth and pain.

Needless to say I definitely connect these two and strongly recommend anyone on these should stop immediately if you are predisposed to D/C. I wished I had realized that before I started. I am now seriously considering surgery for my hand as the nodule on the outside of my thumb causes me great pain.

Too bad there isn't an alternative for us other than surgery and flying to Paris for treatment. I can hardly afford to ride across town much less go to Paris but if I could I would.
