bi-lateral DC

My left hand is worse than my right (I am right-handed). My left hand is a II-III and my right hand is a I-II. Does anybody know if bi-lateral NA is available for same day procedures?

Same Day Treatment

Harold;
I had a similar problem as yours and Dr. Eaton didn't recommend doing N.A. on both hands on the same visit so we delayed 4 days and I'm glad that we did. The small bandage on each hand hampers several activities that you don't think about. So I also recommend two visits.

Who performs the procedure in Canada?

When I contacted Dr. Eaton and spoke with Micki on bilateral issue, she advised Dr. would do one hand on Friday and the other on the following Monday, having the weekend to spend in between. Florida coast is not a bad place to spend a weekend between procedures.

Who performs the procedure in Canada?

You mentioned the procedure is done in Canada but isn't listed in you text file. Would you be kind enough to provide the name, address and phone number of any Canadian doctors who do this procedure. Thanks, Much appreciated

Another Happy Camper

I had N/A performed by Dr. Eaton on January 5, 2004. I was two days away from having the "traditional" hand surgery in April before chickening out. I did not want to start out the golf season that way, plus if you can wait, why hurry? I'm very glad I did, because during that time I discover this forum and thanks to all who have provided information I found an acceptable alternative with Dr. Eaton.

I was in and out of his office in an hour and a half which included the time it took for a night time splint to be made for my hand. It is a painless procedure and the results are amazing. You will feel a small "bee sting" with the injection of the pain killer and that's about it. You will also feel the cords being pulled and snapped, but that's just a little weird feeling and does not hurt.

I had two injections in my left palm, one injection in my ring finger and one between my ring finger and pinkie. Total cost was $1200. I have filed with Blue/Cross Blue/Shield but do not know yet what, if any, they will cover.

My Wife and I drove from Jupiter to Ft. Myers afterwards and I felt fine to do the driving. The next day we drove the Keys to Key West and wrapping my hand around a Margarita at Jimmy Buffet's seem like good therapy to me!

It's been a week now and the flexibility in my hand continues to improve and the soreness continues to abate. If I need to do it again in a year or two I will not be disappointed and just view it the same way I do to a visit to the dentist. Only thing is that Dr. Eaton does not twist the needle like my sick dentist always does!!

Thanks to everyone for all the priceless information and good luck to all!
