Marilyn

I (and others I am sure) wish you the best of
success. You are important to all the people in
your life. No matter how much you have been able
to accomodate this condition, NA will improve
the circumstances in as benign a fashion as is available
today. It is the little things that really thrill
each and everyone of us as we reclaim our lives.
God speed!

Needle Aponevrotomy Results

I just returned from having needle aponevrotomy done by Dr. Eaton. I had a PIP constriction of 47 degrees my left pinky. Just two small shots to numb my palm and finger, some painless probing with a needle, and my finger was pulled back straight. A quick visit to the physical therapist next door and my night splint was done. The cost was $700 and they billed my insurance. The insurance check will come to me.

I have the highest regard for Dr. Eaton. He is kind and compassionate. He will answer all your questions. He is highly skilled at this procedure. I urge anyone with Dupuytren's Disease to contact Dr. Eaton’s office for an appointment.

I learned that my bent finger may return in 2 to 5 years. I also learned that this procedure takes about 6 months to heal.

After our visit to Dr. Eaton my wife and I headed down to Key West. We had a blast! We joined the nightly sunset party, had dinner and margaritas at Jimmy Buffet’s, ate key lime pie, grouper, and conch chowder. We toured the historic sections with the conch train. If you have your hand done, visit the Keys…you will love it.

Sounds good Charlie

I am going to see Dr. Eaton in April and he will work on both of my hands. We have to travel from the West Coast so this is a big deal for us. We plan to make a vacation of it, so we will definitely try to see lots of Southern Florida.

Needle Aponevrotomy Results

I am quite sure everything will go great Marilyn. You may be surprised how little pain is involved and how fast the procedure is. I am also sure you will love Dr. Eaton. He is wonderful.

I was taken back by how friendly the patients with DD in Dr Eaton's waiting room were. We all chatted about our bent fingers. I felt so close to the people in the waiting room even though I didn't know them. Dr. Eaton's nurse asked us if we were having a party in the waiting room. It almost felt like it.

I know some of you who do not post messages are reading this. If you have any misgivings about traveling to Florida to have needle aponevrotomy, please email me. I would be glad to return your email or talk to you on the phone to help you get through this experiance. I really think having DD makes us a family.

Insurance

Charlie, thanks for that post. What an odd, funny experience it would be to sit in a roomful of people, all with DC.

At this point there's absolutely no doubt in my mind that when I need further corrective work (the left thumb is next) I'll go to Dr. Eaton.

Insurance

Charlie (or anyone),

What insurance do you have? I live in Los Angeles and my insurance company is Pacificare; they have never heard of NA. What is the best way to submit a claim to receive coverage?

Thanks in advance,
Steve

Insurance coverage

It would be best if you inquire of the surgeon who will do your procedure.

Insurance coverage

Good morning,
I have Blue Cross insurance and I live in northern California. Refer to this procedure as percutaneous fasciotomy for insurance purposes. You are correct that insurance companies do not recognize needle aponeurotomy.
