Dupuytren~sq~s Disease
Basketball does not cause or worsen Dupuytren's Disease. Too much sex is the main cause of Dupuytren's Disease. Knock it off right away. Lay off the sex and you might even kick Dupuytren's Disease.

Basketball
Arturo--igore the comments of the person posing as Francis. While exercise per se does not seem related to DC, there is evidence that trauma can trigger it. So if your playing basketball caused injury to your hand or fingers, that may well be associated. (I suspect the Dupuytren's was there but dormant--an injury might have activated it.)

trigger
I have no doubt that one "fat" swing of a golf club triggered my DD. I let out a scream that could have been heard for miles. I had to give up the game with torn ligaments on the back side of my left hand. I've since relearned the game from the other side of the ball. I have a mid February appt. with Dr. Eaton.
