Dr. Badois
I am a 52 year old Canadian with Stage 3+ DD on my right pinky and Stage 2 on my right ring finger. Because of this discussion group I learned about NA and made an appointment with Dr. Badois in Paris to have the NA treatment. I had the treatment last week and have just returned home.
Generally, I have had a good experience and I am grateful to have avoided surgery. Dr. Badois is very helpful and my hand is much straighter than before. I will need to have a splint for a month or so and some physio. Right now my pinky is about 30 degrees of total combined contraction - down from 120 degrees - a huge improvement. Hopefully it will still get a bit strighter.
I had 2 sessions - one on Monday and one on Friday. I expect that I will need subsequent treatments as Dr. Badois was not able to do as much as he planned due to some swelling that was present for the Friday session. I think I am to blame for that as I spent a whole lot of the time on the keyboard between sessions.
All in all though, a pretty satisfactory result.
I am happy to share my experiences with those considering this option. Please post your questions.

Costs
I am in the UK and it would be easy for me to get across the English channel to France,
Would you please tell me roughly what medical costs were involved on your two fingers (in euros, )? as I have almost the identical problem, though only at 60 degree angle at present on the right pinky. Thanks

NA and Dr Badois
http://www.davesdomain.ca/dupcon/ Hi Colin, the above is a link to Dave's informative NA site and also a link to Dr. Badois' site. The best way to get an appointment is to have photographs (35 mm or digital) and send (email or post) to the Doctor advising of your email address. The Doctor will respond and suggest an approximate time for appointment (one to two months away.) Dr. Francois Badois, 13, Avenue du General de Gaulle, 95 230 Soisy Sous Montmorency, France. Tel. 33(0) 1 34 28 00 Email is dr.f.badois@wanadoo.fr (I recommend photos and postal mail for a response.) Alternatively, you can contact Dr. Lermusiaux at the L'hopital Lariboisiere in Paris. Fees there are lower and as you may know, Dr. Lariboisiere is credited with introducing the procedure now known as Needle Aponevrotomy or also referred to as percutaneous desmotomy in some literature. Please visit Dave's site and also Walt Stagner.com if you have not yet done so. A 60 degree finger has a better prognosis than a 75-90 degree contracture. Carpe Diem! Apply due diligence and regain your hand function. Also get a Michelin guide to Paris and have some fun. Bon Chance
