citation

Another link, which also includes the correct citation of the publication that claims the localization on the genome, is

http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1399-0004.2005.00504.x

Just in case the according press release disappears from the net.

CanWe Promote Research?

Enter the name of the foundation who helped fund the project into a search engine:

"Allegheny Singer Research Foundation"

You'll see a lot of people have included this report on their sites. We can be encouraged that a lot of people seem to think this is important news. Either that or the Allegheny General Hospital has a good publicist. Maybe both.

Can We Promote Research ?

It was great to see the report of progress in discovery of the genetic location of our disease. A non-surgical treatment or permanant cure would be fantastic.

As sufferers of this condition, why don't we write letters to the foundation and/or researching physicians and thank them for their work? Should we make donations to the foundation or institutions for this research or do anything else to support this effort? Thoughts please.
