trigger finger

My surgery after trigger thumb had no such complications. I was told if anything out of the ususal occured I was to contact my surgeon - unexpected locking and curling would fall into that category and the 29th is 6 days away.

our of office

Marie, that varies strongly and, of course, it also depends on what you are doing. If it is a normal office, keyboard kind of jonb, my guess woudl be 1 - 4 weeks. But if complications arise it could be longer.

To Graham: as pain and concerns are that big, would you have a chance to see your surgeon earlier? But donb't hang you expectations too high: I was also quite concerned after my surgery because I wasn't able to make a fist anymore (not even half-way) but my surgeon thougt he did a great job and everything will turn out fine. At the end he was right but my recovery took 4-6 months instead of the predicted 3 weeks. Anf my pain was not that terrible.

Wishing a quick recovery to both of you

Wolfgang

Trigger Finger

Can anyone please give me some input.
I just went to a hand surgeon. My fingers in my right hand have been swelling up in the mornings ,pinkie and ring. I cant make a fist ,then it gets better as the day goes on.
Doc said trigger finger, cortisone shots then surgery if I dont respond.
Im worried about surgery as I think it will make the dups in those fingers progress faster. Are we more likely to get triger than others?
I dont have any contracture in my hands yet ,lumps and cords down into the bottom of my palm.
Also my fingers dont lock at all like with trigger finger , their just swollen and stiff.
I also went to a rheumatologist to rule out any arthritis He said it was trigger also. Can trigger resolve itself on its own? And will surgery worsen the dups in that hand?

Best wishs to all
