Viking disease

I have heard it said that only males with blue eyes and Viking genes can get duyputrens in the hands.
Lots of females (apparently) on this site reporting Dup, so half of this statement is untrue. What about the eyes?
Does anyone with brown eyes have duyputrens in the hands?

Bad Theory

I have green eyes, but I'm only at stage 1. My father had brown eyes and never saw DC progress past stage 1.

Go Figure

A friend of mine is a fairly dark Afro American. He has discernible Dups bumps in one palm and a cord growing into one finger. He claims he has some American Indian blood, but unless there is a story about some Irishman back there, this is quite unusual. It is possible that he has a small fraction of Northern European blood he don't know about, and that would be my guess. Otherwise Dups is possible in any race, though mostly concentrated in Northern Europeans.

Blue Eyes

Blue eye, Irish and Southern Italian. I like a good book and long walks on the beach....oooops, wrong forum. The L.A. hand surgeon actually asked if my Italian half was northern or southern before assuring me that the dupuytrens was from my Celtic blood. I'm off to Eatonland in February for the NA procedure.

Blue eyes

Yes, I only wish I'd found this Forum before I let them cut *me* in L.A. Tell Eaton "Hi" for me. I like walks in the Rain, but not long surgical recovery times:)
