How to contact Seegenschmiedt
In Jan of this year I contacted Prof Seegenschmiedt via email with pictures of my hand and a brief history. He concluded that I would be a good candidate for R/T and asked me what week in Feb I would like an appointment. I emailed him back requesting an appointment in July since I already had plans to be in Germany at that time. After waiting about another month I emailed him again about the appointment. Again, no reply. Next I emailed the info.szhh.info address and nothing heard hack. Next, I emailed anmeldung@szhh.info which someone on the forum said was the appointments address. Nothing heard back. I tried the phone numbers in the providers list and they did not work. Next I went to the Strahlzentrun Hamburg website and they listed the phone number as 49-40/244-2458-0. On that number there is a recording in German but I cannot understand it.
I do not know what my options are at this point. I cannot imagine what communication problems they are having. I hate to just show up on a Monday morning in July and request treatment. My wife who took German in high school almost said she thinks the recorded message is the right place and it says something about sorry for the inconvience.
If anyone in the forum that understands German and would call the number I referenced above and let me know what it says, I would appreciate it greatly.

Re: How to contact Seegenschmeidt
The number seems OK. It's asking you to choose option one or two on the dial pad. I pressed one and got through to a person.
There seems to be a few emails ending @szhh.info including mail, info, and some personal ones which include ProfS. I'm not sure what to suggest, I can share the one I have for him in a PM, but if you have exchanged with him before and more recently, I'm not sure that is going to help. But there is also a contact form on the website which you could try.

Thank you, I will call back and press one. I did fill out the online form but heard nothing back.

Re: How to contact Seegenschmeidt
1 = radiotherapy 2 = MRT
Unfortunately, the switchboard doesn't seem to be occupied permanently, e.g. not during German lunchtime. I didn't get through either. You might have to try several times.

Re: How to contact Seegenschmeidt
Unfortunately the latest news is that Prof. Seegenschmiedt is on sick leave and it might take a while until he is available again.
In urgent cases you might consider consulting Dr. Herkstroeter in Frankfurt. He has a long experience in treating both Dupuytren and Ledderhose disease with RT and is fluent in English (see e.g. Jonn's story http://www.dupuytren-online.info/downloa...y_NA_RT_new.pdf ). He is also listed on http://www.dupuytren-online.info/radiotherapy_clinics.html .
We will post when Heinrich Seegenschmiedt is available again.

That is indeed bad news. Hope he'll get well soon.

Re: How to contact Seegenschmeidt
Unfortunately the Hamburg clinic is not responsive to those of us needing treatment. I was in communication with Dr. S about my foot before he fell ill, and a few weeks ago I finally reached someone on the phone to learn why there was no response to my emails. I called and spoke to Hannah who said she'd get back to me about another doctor. She did email me but instead of providing information, simply asked if I'd be willing to see another doctor. I immediately replied and am now going on two weeks waiting a response. I'm going to reach out to the Doctor in Frankfurt and see if that goes better.

Re: How to contact Seegenschmeidt
Thanks for the update about the Hamburg clinic. Although you would not get the experience of ProfS, Dr Wong at Morristown might be closer for you? http://radiationoncologynj.com

Re: How to contact Seegenschmeidt
Thanks, yeah I've consulted with Dr. Wong, but it remains to be seen if my insurance will approve the treatment. If I get full approval, I'll move forward, but if not I need a backup plan for treatment in Germany (out of pocket costs for treatment in the US are so ridiculous, when I received the bill for one round of radiation for my hand in the US it was 30k - but I was approved for that and only responsible for my deductible)

Re: How to contact Seegenschmeidt
Treatment in Frankfurt should be MUCH cheaper, even if you include your traveling expenses. Would your insurance accept treatment abroad if they saved money?
