Pain from cortisone shots
When I had a cortisone shot Tuesday afternoon, the doctor warned me that I would have pain from the shot for a couple of days. However, I still have some pain (on Sunday)--is it probably from the shot or because the shot wasn't effective?
Thanks.

Re: Pain from cortisone shots
I had 4 or 5 shots and it was very painful. I used ice with a cold washcloth and a pain reliever. My doctor felt badly when I called his clinic the next day because he had forgotten to tell me how painful it would be when the numbing wore off. I hope you're feeling better soon. Blessings, Pam

Re: Pain from cortisone shots
The doctor warned me about the pain, but didn't suggest ice (which I have subsequently read about). How long did the pain from the shots last?
Thanks.

Re: Pain from cortisone shots
I'm sorry, I thought of that later. It was better in a few day. I kept icing it and OTC pain reliever. I hope you are feeling better by now. I'm thinking that if a nerve was nicked you would experience more pain and possibly longer. It really hurt a lot. Just rest it, that is key too. My husband had to remind me to not use it for a few days. Hope this helps. Pam

Re: Pain from cortisone shots
Thanks again. It's better, but still sore. I think I should have started icing it right away. We are going on vacation tomorrow, which is the good news and the bad news javascript:add(' '); I'll take lots of pain reliever!
