Looking for Dr in Québec Canada
I was just diagnosed with Dupuytren in both hands, at early stage. I am looking for a specialist in Quebec Canada, or Ontario. I am also seeking information on treatment by radiation and is there any center in my province that gives it ? I am very concerned. Thank you !

Re: Looking for Dr in Québec Canada
Hi Sylvia, I don't know where you are at in your research for a Dr in québec. In am in Montreal and searching the same thing. I have asked Best Doctors a month ago and did not receive any answer. I started DD in Feb and now have it in both hands. I suspect LD in left foot and I am leaving for Hamburg this Friday for my first treatment. I will try to have RAMQ reimburse me for some part, but even there, I need a confirmation by some specialists that this treatment is not offered in the province. If you have any news on your side, I would love to know them.

Re: Looking for Dr in Québec Canada
Hi,
I have not pursue much research since I have other health problems and the Dupuytren has not progress since. But I have contacted an oncologist at a Montreal hospital who informed me that radiotherapy was not done for Dupuytren here in Quebec. I too have a nodule in my left foot. I will go back to the surgeon about this one. What kind of treatment are you getting in Hamburg ?

Re: Looking for Dr in Québec Canada
I am heading for radiotherapy with dr. Seegenschmiedt. It started this winter, and now has reached both hands. I suspect i have ledderhose in the left foot as well as ihave changed my walking and i have a nodule in the forefeet (not in the arch) I am also getting an ultrasound prior to leaving to see if it is in the foot. It evolved quite rapidly so there is no time to waste. I got the best info from this web site and i am tremendously grateful it was made available. Do you remember the name of the oncologist you spoke to in mtl ? In order to ask for reimbursment by the province ramq, i need two letters from specialists of this disease (i guess it would be surgeons here ) stating that the treatments are not available in the province. I think it would make a better case if i had this statement from an radio oncologist as well.

Re: Looking for Dr in Québec Canada
I haven't found any radio-oncologist ready to treat Dupuytren in Quebec, but Dr. Charles Catton treats it in Ontario. He is at Princess Margaret Hospital. If you find the cost for residents in Québec, I am very curious to know it.

Re: Looking for Dr in Québec Canada
Hi guys,
I had radiation for Ledderhose in Montreal last year. They do it at Royal Victoria (MUHC) and at the Jewish. Probably at most hospitals too if you just call the Radiation Oncology department.
Good luck
