Needle aponeurotomy with Dr Manet 09/10/26
Hi everybody, I thought i would share my latest treatment for my Dupuytrens which was in France on 9th October 2026, So i have suffered from this condition from around 2003 (at 38 years old) when i noticed a small nodule at the bottom of my right pinkie finger. This eventually progressed to the left pinkie finger and the bending started!. With thanks to this forum i did my research and decided that Needle aponeurotomy was the way to go, especially as i was still a youngish man!
I had two procedures done between then and now which was carried out by Dr Badois in France, the last being around 7-8 years ago. Dr Badois has since retired so i found myself looking for a new doctor in 2026 and through excellent posts from some members on this forum i found Dr Manet to be a suitable replacement.
Dr Manet is contactable via email and after sending her a message in July with photos of both my hands i received a reply within two weeks. She is very much in demand so my appointment was booked for October the 9th. Cost of treating both my hands was 500 Euro which was very reasonable in my opinion.
So on 9th October i travelled on Eurostar from St Pancras London to Paris Du Nord station. Compared to my previous visits to Dr Badois office this was a lot easier! At Paris Du Nord i took the Metro line 5 directly to Place d'italie with no transfers (Approx 19 mins). Fare was approx 3 Euros each way. From exiting the station i saw that Dr Manets office was directly in front of me (approx 2 minute walk). So far so good!
At 12 noon i entered the office and was welcomed by Dr Manet. Thankfully her English is very good and i found her very friendly. She examined my hands and took measurements of their current angles. My right pinkie was approx 40% bent with my left pinkie 20% bent. I also had slight bending of my 4th left hand finger. Dr Manet then explained clearly what she was going to do and the proposed outcome. Unfortunately as per my past treatment with Dr Badois i was advised that my right pinkie would not be able to be fully straightened due to my pip joint being locked. I was fully aware of this so it came as no surprise. After following her to the treatment room i was advised to wash my hands before she started the procedure.
It is no surprise to anybody who has had this procedure that the only pain you feel is the initial injections for local anesthetic into your hands. I had about four each hand but the anesthetic works superfast so in no time my hands were numb and ready for treatment. I decided not to watch the procedure and apart from hearing the cords break now and then (which was strangely satisfying) during treatment it was completely painless. After around 50 minutes work on my hands the session was completed and Dr Manet advised that all had gone well. She did remind me that the aim of this treatment is to get the fingers functioning again rather than trying to get them fully straight (which in my case was not an option anyway). After bandaging both my hands she led me back to her desk and remeasured the angle of my fingers post treatment. Even through they were bandaged i could see the vast improvement. I thanked Dr Manet for her expertise and left the building for my journey home.
As instructed i kept the bandages on for 3 days without getting them wet (to prevent any infection). I am now a week since treatment and am delighted with the results. No heavy lifting for the next three weeks as advised and ive started wearing nightsplints which will hopefully keep the reoccurence at bay for a lot longer than not using them.
To summarise i would not hesitate in recommending Dr Manet. She is very experienced in this field of Needle aponeurotomy and her fees are very reasonable. There are doctors who carry out this procedure in the UK. However for me i would rather travel and be in safe hands (excuse the pun) knowing that doctors like Dr Manet are specialists in this field and know what they are doing.
Lastly i would like to thank a few members of this forum who have given their time to email me with additional information of their experience with Dr Manet.
If i can be of any help to anybody thinking of having Needle aponeurotomy with Dr Manet i would be happy to help.
Kelvin

If pictures can't upload, it might be due to the pic size. Must be less than 1 MB.
