new member question.
Hello everyone. My name is Danny. Im 36 and I was diagnosed with developing a DC in my right hand. Its only effecting my ring finger currently. According to the doctors here until it gets bad enough my fingers curl there is absolutely nothing they can/ or will do for it. Their advice is abuse the heck out of it to progress the disease so they can operate on it. After reading and finding out they're either just lazy or stupid I think im going for a 4th opinion. Before finding out this I did as they instructed and abused the heck out of it. Now every day is a painful one. My question is has anyone else had sharp pains after using their hands alot? Its not so bad when I first wake up and almost not even noticeable most days. But by the end of the day it usually is bugging me when I use it alot. Thanks.

Re: new member question.
Those weren't real doctors that said that to you. You must have been in the hardware store.

Re: new member question.
Welcome rooster
Callie is right, you received bad advice. DD usually progresses slowly, and you may be able to help yourself by looking after your hands. There is some evidence of a link between trauma, injury, work, vibration, etc, so I recommend giving your hands a chance to heal and taking care of them. There are treatment choices for different stages, all described in this website, with some doctors and clinics based on users experiences or recommendations.
Best wishes
SB

Re: new member question.
I have had sharp pain on occasions where I lifted something heavy and stretched the affected finger(s) but the pain left within an hour or so.

Re: new member question.
I feel sharp, stinging, burning pain when I don't treat my hand kindly. It accumulates as the day goes on and can continue into the next day if I'm not careful. I use a paraffin wax treatment with gentle stretch and message as per Dr. I also feel the gritty, crawling feeling of active disease after a rough week. The active growing feeling comes in waves. Hope you can find a competent Dr!
