Re: Acupuncture, massage, RT, and diet

RE: Chiropractic care - yes, I was impressed by it too....but can't comment as I didn't follow up on it. There was definitely a realignment he did - starting from my shoulder down.....

RE: RT - I've scrapped the idea for now. I got spooked from doing it when one of the forum members here reported getting leukemia shortly after her RT.

RE: Diet - I stick to a very, very good diet, eliminating alcohol entirely (1.5 years now) - though I've put a small bit of regular sugar back in. I think my good diet has helped in a variety of ways - not to mention a little weight loss - and perhaps its helped stem the flow of the progression of the disease, but its not going to cure me of all my aches and pains, sadly.

RE: Acupuncture - good in part - not a total cure. Helped with pain and tendonitis.

RE: Massage - good in part - I'm doing a once a month therapy session now with it.

RE: RED LASER LIGHT - my latest interest - and one that I perhaps like the most. I've been several months doing laser therapy with a medically approved laser - perhaps the best $200 I've ever spent. I carry that crazy little red flashlight with me everywhere, and shine the light on my DD everyday. Love it.

I've had DD for couple years now, and so far, no contracture - but 2 nodules (I thought a 3rd one was on its way - but it disappeared!), a cord and a big ole dimple. If I do contract, we'll know the laser has only "some" benefit, and that this disease will just progress when it needs to, despite the arsenal of therapies I've launched against it. That may take many more months yet to determine. Meanwhile, the laser is best for my significant pain - takes it right out. The pain I blame on Hashimoto's disease, which may be a culprit in the onset of my DD, as well. I am also a vitamin D deficient person, working on bringing up those levels.
