Laser therapy

Recently a patient from California reported good results of a laser treatment of Dupuytren, another patient from Switzerland reported equally good results for Ledderhose. We would be very interested in

- further experience with laser therapy
- long term results
- what kind of laser has been used and how frequently
- addresses of doctors who provide this therapy for Dupuytren and/or Ledderhose, wherever on this globe.

Thanks & please post if you have experience with laser therapy!

I started cold laser treatment for DUPS in December with Dr. Roberts in Rancho Mirage, CA. He uses a Thor machine and treats for 3 minutes per session (cost $50 per session). I had 6 treatments with him in December '05. I noticed some improvement, but not a lot. I then found Dr. Solomon of Desert Laser Center, in Palm Desert, CA. He uses an Omega XP machine and treats for 15 minutes per session for $50 per session. I had 5 treatments with Dr. Solomon in February and April 2006. I have now stopped my treatment as I was told that further treatment will probably not reduce the size of the one remaining nodule any further. When I began treatment, I had two medium size nodules on my right palm and protruding cords. I now have one very, very small nodule and no cords that I can feel.

success

Hi Linda, that sounds great! Congratulation! Would you mind an update in, say, 3 - 6 months? If this yields a long term success it sure will make sense to further pursue and promote this therapy.

Re: Laser therapy

I had good success with Laser Therapy at least to reduce inflammation and pain. After one treatment I could walk on my foot again. Over the course of one week I had 3 treatments. I had hoped it would reduce the nodule but it did not seem to have an affect. However, about one month later it does feel flatter and generally hasn't bothered me although it's still sore if I press on it. The link to the clinic I went to is http://www.streamlinelaser.com/. Their website says they use low intensity laser therapy from Meditech-Bioflex. I would highly recommend it.
