Have just found this site after suffering from this disease for around 8 years now. I had my first experience of this when i was around 28 years old and was told then that i was extreamly young to have started with dupuytrens.
I have now undergone 4 operations on my right hand for this, the last being only 12 months ago. It has come back with evengance again and this time my thumb is really badly effected.
My first four opps have been to my small finger and palm at the bottom of that finger. The finger itself is at around 70 degrees with a lump around the size of a small pea now, this has now spread to the palm under my second finger which measures around 8mm x 8mm. The alarming thing with this is the speed that this lump has grown, it only appeared under 2 months ago.
My thumb has a lump just above where it bends over, the size of this is now 20mm x 10mm and 5mm deep. I didn't have this operated on as it hadn't effected its full movement as yet. What has now appeared over 3-4 months is a big lump at the base of the thumb, between the thumb and the next finger which is quite painfull when any pressure is applied.
When trying to get to sleep on a night i do experience aching pain on all my dupuytrens, sometime quite sharp, what i don't understand is nobody else seams to have any pain or be effected with the speed of what i am going through.
Would really like to hear from anyone going through the same thing or someone that can advise what i should do next. Im from the UK.
