Two years after RT, it's still working
When I decided to get RT for my left hand, which had a 20-degree contracture and active nodules, I was just hoping for a five-year pause in the disease. Well, after two years, so far so good!
I'm still at a 20-degree contracture on the pinky PIP, and the nodules have remained inactive for the two years.
Moreover, my other hand and a foot, which previously had active nodules, have also been quiet for the two years, even though they were not treated. It used to be uncomfortable to walk a long distance, but after RT on the hand the nodule on the foot has not been a bother.
For side effects, the treated skin on the hand is still visibly different: it's a little bit drier, more wrinkled, and with some whiteness in the wrinkles. But this is not bothersome, and nobody would notice it but me.
