Why do my hands tighten up & become more painful at night?

Hello,

I have Dupuytren's Contracture really Bad, as well as Ledderhose Disease, but I was wondering if someone has the answer to why my hands hurt more before bed, and tighten up worse than through the day?

Does anyone out there know the reason for this?

I can't answer why-- perhaps use but I can tell you what can help. I found RT helped a lot with that although now, 7 years later, I'm really tightening up again. Hand grippers/strengtheners help. Icing can help--freeze ice in dixie cups and then run over hands. Heat can help--find one of those thing you cna put in microwave and heat up. My all-time favorite, though, is finger putty. It really loosens things up but you need to be diligent:
