Hi barbhand, two and a half weeks is still quite early, but since there can be complications with wound healing after hand surgery, I would hope and expect that you are seeing a doctor or nurse who is advising you on the right dressings and actions to take to promote healing and reduce scarring? Your doctor and nurse should be the your first point of call here, what is their advice?

Re: wound not healing

Hi There I suppose im expecting it to heal overnight ,not very patient at the best of times ,I had stitches out on Monday this week and they were concerned then that it wasnt healing ,infact the nurse taking them out called another nurse as she didnt want to take all of them out but was told to as they had been in for two weeks, i was just told to keep dressing on for three days and keep elevated as very swollen and then nothing so made appointment with own doctor for today as i feel a little unwell ,feeling a bit sick and headache so maybe infection ,I am hoping they will also give some advice on what to do with it,thanks for replying to me .Barb
