I was caned at school about 18 years ago (when corporal punishment was legal) which caused a permenant bruise on the side of the knuckle on my thumb of my left hand and a permenant hard lump on the palm side of my knuckle joint of my little finger.

18 years later, I have been diagnosed as having DC in my little finger. There is a hard lump on the little finger tendon in my palm which seems to be joined to this lump from 18 years ago.

Could this be the root cause of my DC?
