texas surgeons?

I'm a 38yr old male that has DC in both hands that started about a year ago. At the age of 23 through 30 I
have had multiple surgeries on both feet and another past due on my left foot. I have prolonged another foot surgery on the advice of my last surgeon at Stanford Hospital in Calif. The reason? If it dosen't affect or bother your movement don't touch it with another knife.

My hands have the standard junk of lumps, pits and my little finger is contracted approx 25% on both hands. Both my father and uncle have DC and had their surgeries way to late. They had a re-contraction on both hands within months.

I'm frustated and suprised that we who suffer from this have no real direction to a list of sugrgeons nation wide?
I live in Austin Texas and would like to hear from those who have had surgery in the state and who they would recommend as a surgeon.

Those that read this posting who have been recently been ID'D
with DC or Fibermatosis of the feet don't panic!! I've had it all and know that it's all in how you approach this mentally. Your not going to jail, eye's not poked out,
going to die ect...

PS- Thanks DAD for the male pattern balding and of course
this crap.

Dr. in TX

David-

My husband is the same age as you, and was just diagnosed last month. We're in San Antonio and saw a doctor with a very good reputation. My husband hasn't had any surgery yet, so I can't give you any first hand feedback, but everyone raves about this doctor.

Check out Dr. Green at the Hand Center of San Antonio: http://www.handcentersa.com/.

Good luck to you! I'll look for you here on the Forum!

austin

hey david, my daughter was just diagnosed. we're in austin. this is a really good site to get information and there is a ton to learn. i'm in the process of looking for docs for second, third, etc... opinions. if i here something good in the area, i'll let you know. the dr. she had her first surgery with was Dr. Susan Adler. My ex-wife took her to her and said she was highly recommended by a friend. not sure of her knowledge of dupuytren's.
