Treatment of Nodes

I am grateful for the many people on this forum who have taken the time to spread what they know about this strange disease. I was diagnosed some months ago with Dup.D in my left hand. I have not at this time developed any cords. However, I have two nodes in the palm of my left hand below the fourth finger. One of the nodules is very large and the other one small. Like many others, I also have great worries about my future with regard to the use of my hands. I am a pianist and a writer and composer. A part of my soul would be lost if I could no longer play the instrument I love.

Are there any known treatments regarding this disease at this early stage before cords form? Are shots of Cortizone effective? Does anyone know where to find a doctor who knows about Dup.D in the San Francisco Bay Area?

I want to thank those who reply for your kindness.

I further want to thank those who have put themselves on the line for trying to spread the most recent advances.

Finally, I will continue to pray for all who have this disease and for those who are striving to find a cure.

Sincerely, James

Nodule treatment in the SF Bay area

James,

Dr. Hentz at Stanford is a top notch Dupuytren's doctor. He has done research on collengase. If the time comes for surgery though...off you go to Florida to see our friend Dr. Eaton. Perhaps if you see Dr. Hentz you could speak to him about NA.
