Gathering the troups

Hi all,

Well we've all been here a while and have hoped that NA would quickly spread across North America after Dr. Eaton was trained but it seems that hasn't happened...at least not quick enough for my tastes.

So. I've created this thread as a place where we can discuss how WE can make that happen. This website has helped inform patients, but unfortunately doctors themselves are not accessing this information as frequently as we wish so....perhaps some leg work might help...let's get this out to them.

To keep things organized I ask that if you have an idea please create it under a separate Subject line and everyone respond to it using the same subject so we don't get them all mixed up.

I'll give you an example below.

Anyone who responds use the same subject so we keep straight who is responding to what..that way...if an particular idea fizzles out then readers can just automatically skip those messages when returning to the website.

Hope this works. Thanks for listening

Idea number 2

We need a doctor in each state and California has come up a number of times so lets start there then if we are successful, go on to each state alphabetically.

1) Find out the name and website of the governing bodies of that state then post their name and websites here so we all have access to the info.

ie: American College of Surgeons www.FACS.org

This is best done by people who lives in the particular state because they will have access to info that we don't.

2)When that info comes in, we look at the websites and figure out who would be best to contact.

3) We ALL send letters to that person AT THE SAME TIME indicating a) how NA has impacted us, b) Dr Eaton's website for a fuller explanation, and c) a request that they and/or their organization review NA because as a patient you would like to see NA in your own state.

TRY TO KEEP IT SHORT LIKE A RESUME because they will probably not read past the first page if they mistake our letters for advertisements.

Letters from all over the world about NA will at least raise awareness. They can ignore us but at least they will know about NA.

4) If a person doesn't want to write a full letter, a postcard will be fine. It's NA awareness that we want.

So...that was the first idea....please feel free to critique it and add....but do so under the subject heading of 'Idea number 2' so if this one is scrapped then this info will not get confused with the next idea posted.

Thanks,

Frances

NA

Frances, "Well we've all been here a while and have hoped that NA would quickly spread across North America after Dr. Eaton was trained but it seems that hasn't happened...at least not quick enough for my tastes."

Why have you badmouthed anyone doing NA besides Dr. Eaton? What is your real agenda?

Huh?

Dear Jeff,

You must have read my posts incorrectly, this thread was created to organize those who support NA to spread information about how successful it is with the hope of encouraging MORE doctors to become interested in getting NA training thereby making NA more accessable and accepted.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if NA were available in EACH state? That is the Goal.

Frances.

NA

You are the first one to complain when someone isn't on your list for NA training in Paris. Does everyone have to go to Paris for your approval?

Idea #3

My approach is to educate our fellow sufferers who are searching the Net, having been told the may need surgery. Most people, when presented with the facts, will want to give NA a try. If you create a small revolt among the consumer, you have the best leverage to get the supplier to sit up and listen. Supply and Demand. Get enough people to demand NA, supply will more easily follow.

To that end I created http://www.cureDupuytrens.com

Yes, the address should be changed because there is no "cure". Second, I haven't had the time or $$$ to figure how to get this in front of everyone who does a search on "Dupuytren". But, there aren't a lot of people spending a lot of money to get their Dups site noticed, so it shouldn't be that hard. Is there anyone who knows what they're doing when it comes to search engines who could take this idea and run with it?

Google Search

I just did a Google Search typing in "Dupuytren's Disease" and a link to this site was the 3rd listing. So this forum should be easy to find. We all found it didn't we?
