Drop in the Bucket
Gerry,
With AOL, "The Forum" is 8th, though Eaton's "sponsored" site (that means $$$$) is first. Use only the MSN search (like I did 18 months ago) and you'll wind up having the surgery. Site after site tells you with unflinching authority that you have no option.
*Of course* we who read this site have all made it here. That's self evident. What is more evident is that we haven't begun to put a dent in the US Dups surgery machine. I strongly believe that if presented with all the facts the vast majority of people will try NA first. I don't know the Stats, but Eaton & Co. are doing, what, 1% of the US hands every month? Obviously we are *not* getting the message out. I wonder what % of surgery candidates are even on line at all?

informing physicians
My internist for many years has no clue about NA and not interested in knowing about procedure..tha same goes for my hand surgeon...Today I went to an osteopath for a slight knee problem and he noticed my hands. I told him about the NA procedure and he assumed I was having botox injections. When I tried to explain,I asked if he would like information and he was most receptive. He will be receiving info from Dr. Eaton's office..still difficult to believe that so few doctors are or want to be informed...

Ideas to spread NA
I went to my GP doctor last week for a checkup. I showed him the little finger Dr. Eaton fixed. I told him about NA. He was impressed. He said he would look into NA and possibly send his other DD patients to the Hand Center in Jupiter.

We are succeeding
Last night I was out at a function and got to making small talk with a stranger... seems this lady's late husband had DC and had heard about NA - they were planning the trip to Europe when he passed away suddenly.
It was exciting to come across a complete stranger who knew of NA, this makes me think our work is having an effect.

More NA doctors
We need more doctors in the USA to treat Dupuytren’s disease with needle aponevrotomy. We all know that three hand doctors presently treat Dupuytren’s disease with needle aponevrotomy in the USA. We hope that an American plastic surgeon may soon train in France to treat Dupuytren’s disease with needle aponevrotomy. We also know that rheumatologists treat Dupuytren’s disease with needle aponevrotomy in France. I think we should contact and encourage rheumatologists in the USA to treat Dupuytren’s disease with needle aponevrotomy. Not without training in France of course. Can you think of other doctors who might qualify to perform needle aponevrotomy?
