Literature on collagenase injection as therapy for Dupuytren's contracture

With permission by ASSH and Elsevier (thank you to both!) we publish the full text of two original papers on the use of collagenase for treatment of Morbus Dupuytren.

Longer term results and recurrence:

Watt AJ, Curtin CM, and Hentz VR "Collagenase injection as nonsurgical treatment of dupuytren's disease: 8-year follow-up." J Hand Surg Am 35 (2010): 534-539 abstract.

Annet van Rijssen, Hein ter Linden, Paul M. N. Werker "Five-Year Results of a Randomized Clinical Trial on Treatment in Dupuytren’s Disease: Percutaneous Needle Fasciotomy versus Limited Fasciectomy" Plastic Reconstr Surg 129 (2012) p 469–477. abstract In this paper the authors additionally compare with published data on collagenase injection. Full text available from the authors or from the International Dupuytren Society.

A summary of recurrence data is given in the above paper by Lindau et al.. When comparing to needle fasciotomy and surgery the authors cite the above paper paper from van Rijssen et al. but do not adjust the recurrence data as van Rijssen et al. did. Therefore collagenase looks better than the other treatment options.
