Re: boutonniere's disease
The Boutonniere deformity of Dups is a little unusual, but Dr. Charles Eaton does mention that he does NA on this condition. Hopefully someone here has experience as a patient, but you might send picture to Eaton for his input.

Re: boutonniere's disease
I have the boutonniere's deformity on my left pinky. I've had multiple NA's on both hands, ring finger and pinkies, by Badois, Lermusaiaux, Eaton and Zidel. Overall, NA has been very unsuccessful on this finger due to a "locked PIP joint." I had traditional surgery on it in March of 2006. The finger is now at about 50 degrees instead of 135, but the Boutonniere's deformity is still there. Kristen

Re: boutonniere's disease
Thank you for letting me in on your experience. I have an appointment with Dr. eaton in April. I am trying to keep my finger moving and hope the pip is not "locked". Thanks again for your input.

Re: boutonniere's disease
question? i got hurt at work i fell and after falll i was unable to lift my pinky finger but was able to make a fist. i also had a ganglion cystr on wrist and foriegn matter in my first finger. but the hospital told me nothing was wrong that my wrist was sprained and bruised pinky ( yet was still unable to lift it.) for 7 months they told my this then went therapy 3 times week. then went got second opinion and he operated on me in less then week. was goin to do tendon transfer but said afterwards all i needed was a central slip repair. soon as took of cast the pinky fell worse then before, and was severly swollen. operated again said was goin to repair central slip again and pin the pip joint to make sure no way finger could bend and slip the tendon again. week after surgery i noticed my finger starting to hang with the pin in it. couple weeks later pin was removed and finger hung worse then ever finger was swollen worse then ever. could of me waiting so long or the doctor of caused this . cause now i cant lift or close my finger at all its so swollen looks like my thumb. hurts worse then ever, hangs worse then ever, i cant even push it up with another finger. or make a fist anymore.
