RT at Scripps completed

I completed the 10 day series of RT at Scripps. I do see a difference. Nodules are not gone but softer and seem to be continuing to decrease. Hand is less taut and span from pinkie to thumb is wider. Dr. T said that it will continue to be effective for about a month. Since it shows a visible difference, I am extremely hopeful that I am one of the 66% of success. Showing that it has made a difference tells me that it worked. Even if I keep the nodules, but the progression of Dups stops, that's the success I'm looking for. So far, I haven't felt that itchy sensation that I identify as active Dups. That's another good sign.

I had no dryness, not even any awareness of having had RT other than the positive changes. I asked Dr. T if RT can be done again if it starts up again in the future. He said that because the dose/intensity of the electron RT is so low, it can be done again on the same area. I think this is working, but I asked anyway. Who knows what any case of Dups is going to do? Even my own right hand is so different from my left hand.

I go back August 13 for my one month follow-up appointment. We will look the success on my right hand and evaluate the left hand for possible RT. Also, possibly RT on the nodule that is on top of my right thumb.

I like the idea of electron RT. I like the low dose protocol, the very specific targeted area and that the electron RT only goes as deep as the Dups reaches.

I previiously posted the basic process of RT at Scripps. I think I've covered it all for now. If not, ask any questions.

My concern is that everybody doesn't have insurance to get the treatment needed for this blasted disease, whether NA or RT. It is so-oooooooo needed for everybody to have all options for treatment. I hope that will come to pass. Even if coverage is available, we have to keep educating every medical personnel and every Dups victim about this website and the treatment options. I would have been in total darkness about NA, RT or what to do if it were not for this single website.
