Re: 8 Months since Xiaflex
I did not have as easy a time as Callie. I was in a lot of pain before surgery, even though my contracture was not as severe. I had a miserable case of tendinitis, as well, so the doc also did a tendon release on my ring and middle fingers. I was in PT for months. But, he did a great job and my left hand is perfect 12 years later.
But, this surgeon no longer takes my insurance, so I'm working with my rheumatologist to find a new surgeon. I really don't want surgery. Really, all I want is a consult and some advice right now. If surgery is recommended, I'll likely just bite the bullet and go through with it. I do know, however, is that the doc who performed the Xiaflex injections for me is not an option, and I'm good with that. If I never see her again, I'm definitely good with that too. ~~ Diane
