Radiation Therapy in Michigan
I posted a few months back that I was undergoing Radiation Therapy at the University of Michigan Hosipital. Some of you wanted contact information but for whatever reason, the Doctor was reluctant to do so. I think they just wanted to see how it went with me and one other person who was having it done. I have had my right hand and both feet done (One more to go on my right foot) and as many of you who went thru RT reported, the results have been very positive. I asked the MD at my follow up appointment yesterday if I could provide contact information and he agreed so here it is:
DR James Hayman Radiation Oncology - University of Michigan Hospital 1500 East Medical Center Drive Ann Arbor, Michigan 48109-0010 Phone # 734-936-4300 e-mail: hayman@med.umich.edu

Re: Radiation Therapy in Michigan
What protocol was used for you? Total dosage? Time frame? Was it the same for your hand as for your foot? Any other info would be appreciated.

Re: Radiation Therapy in Michigan
Either 10 × 3 Gy (total 30 Gy) in 2 series of each 5 × 3 Gy separated by a break of 12 weeks or 7 × 3 Gy (total 21 Gy) in one series within 2 weeks are both acceptable regimens.
I have treated a fair amount of Dupytren's and am located at Beaumont Health.

Re: Radiation Therapy in Michigan
What kind of equipment? Dr. S uses E. Beam with the penetration depth of about 1 cm I believe.
I wonder if different types of radiation and setups yield different results.
