For several months, off and on, I've noticed a burning sensation in the PIP area (inside) of my thumb. From what I've read in this wonderful Forum, it may be that this is a precursor to the appearance of a nodule (someone wrote previously that they had felt burning in a finger or hand and then woke up with a nodule). I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this question but is there anything I can do to prevent the emergence of a nodule at this stage?

I have DD in both hands under several fingers in each hand but as yet there is nothing in either thumb, except for this sensation.

I'd be grateful for any advice.
