Re: Catching up with you

I am wondering if anyone has experience with dmso/vitamin e and enzymes and acupuncture etc... That is, IN other words, does anyone out there have experience applying the above-mentioned techniques and seeing the disease PROGRESS anyway? If so, I would like to know...I am hoping these techniques might at least be able to "slow down" the progress of the disease, if that's possible...
I am considering RT at the hospital in Minnesota based on a positive review...anyone else go there and if so what is the feedback?
THANKS,
cureall

Hi Cureall,

I shared some of my experiences under the topic "laser treatment". If I remember well somewhere else I mentioned using DMSO.
Also I found the search facility brings up a lot of information I didn't come across just scrolling through the different topics.
Hope this helps....
In general I can say that there are "good" days and "and not so good" days, with the good days slowly increasing.
Yet, I have given myself another 3 - 6 months and if the condition doesn't show a clear healing trend, I will go for RT.

Re: Catching up with you

Thanks, Wolfgang. It's much better tonight, and I can actually use my hand. Swelling is way down, though my hand is still stiff. I will check it out with my doctor. I know I didn't injure the hand and it came on so suddenly, that I started researching Dupuytrens as a possible cause. Thanks again for the feedback.

Hi cureall, you might use "Search forum" (menu on the left side) for finding according forum posts. That will provide you with feedback additional to the comments from current users.

Re: Catching up with you

Curell,
I tried acupuncture, dsmo and vitamin E for the DD in both hands. It did nothing to stop the progression. I have RT in Iowa this year and the disease seems to have completely stopped and both of my hands are softer and much less deformed. You have a doctor in Minn that has done RT for DD, you should go and see her before you have contraction and it is too late for RT.

Re: Catching up with you

thanks for your answer. That pretty much tells the story about alternative treatments for this problem.
I'm definitely going to try to do rt.

take care,

Kaiser doc doing NA

@CarolNoel:
I have been recently diagnosed with DC...and the medical types at Kaiser here are quite useless...talking only about surgery "when it gets bad".

Hi Carol,

If you ever get to the point where you need or are considering NA--a favorite procedure of many here-- there is a doctor at Kaiser in Marin County, Northern California who does do the procedure. She was trained by Dr. Denkler, a doc oft-mentioned by folks here.
