Cold hands and pain

I have started to make handwarmers to wear as I have pain in my hand especially when it is cold, even in warm weather my hand can be cold. I am willing to sell these for a contribution ot the Dupuytren Society and my costs. I am attaching a sample of what I make

I live in the UK

Re: Cold hands and pain

Cold doesn't bother my hands, but they are cute and what a nice way to support Dupuytren's Society!

Re: Cold hands and pain

Are you sure that you don't have Raynaud's?

Raynaud's phenomenon is an exaggeration of vasomotor responses to cold or emotional stress.

"The symptoms include several cyclic color changes:
When exposed to cold temperatures, the blood supply to the fingers or toes, and in some cases the nose or earlobes, is markedly reduced; the skin turns pale or white (called pallor), and becomes cold and numb.
When the oxygen supply is depleted, the skin colour turns blue (called cyanosis).
These events are episodic, and when the episode subsides or the area is warmed, the blood flow returns and the skin colour first turns red (rubor), and then back to normal, often accompanied by swelling, tingling, and a painful "pins and needles" sensation."

Re: Cold hands and pain

I do not have any of the Reynaud symptoms except that sometimes the cold makes pain worse. I have severe ache at night and Dr gave me a brace to put on as tight as possible to relieve pain. I have kienbocks disease in my right wrist & it's fused together. We're afraid I'm getting it in my right hand & already have appt we are planning to do MRI at his office when I see him. I thought I have dupruytens only because I was looking up pain & after seeing people having a rootlike feel under skin on palm I checked... Found it feels like I have a big rope going up the palm of my hand with big nodules near the top of it by my ring finger & pinkie. Thanks for looking, but definitely don't think it's reinsure. No burning, tingling, no swelling, no discoloration of loss of color, etc
