Re: hifu
Here's what I know and this may or not be factual: it's used to "kill" fibroid tissue, it's used for prostate problems. Evidently hifu is able to do something similar to what radiation can do without the fear of cancer causing rays. However, i know so little about it that I may not know the down sides to hifu. If you google high intensity focused ultrasound, you'll find some interesting ideas that may pique your curiosity. Also, I believe there is a study proposed in Germany that will look at what it can do for dupuytrens. cureall

Re: hifu better tha radiation ???
And where are the LONG-TERM OUTCOME data for HIFU ... its another hype !
When ultrasound shakes a house, radiation is able to kick away the dust from the table ... ultrasound never hits the ultrastructure of the cells - the DNA - but radiation does it !
I DO NOT BELIEVE In THE HIFU data ...

Re: hifu
You people are amazing! Quick to judge and shoot down another possible alternative to this disease. Just from the info that I read from googling HIFU I would give it a try if it were available in my area.

I think we need to be balanced about wanting to try promising treatments versus asserting, as cureall did that a treatment "might be the best thing for dup". Even when challenged he provided no substantiated facts, and said "this may or not be factual".
If you are willing to give it a try that's fine. It's your choice.
But let others make their own objective decision, especially in the absence of any evidence based results which is the norm for western medicine. If there are published, and refereed results out there then provide us the information.
