off the shelf splints
Mike, the page http://www.alimed.com/Products.asp?keywo...mp;x=41&y=8 shows some custom/adjustable splints. How good they are I can't judge, but maybe worth a look or try.

No, it just "hangs". But I persisted and finally got it to kick over. I did find an order form for the whole hand glove splint but for not for the "custom" single finger splint. maybe because it really does have to be custom built. What I still have from my PT looks something like the custom single finger splint pictured but I'd buy a new one like the one pictured if it was available without the need to go somewhere and have it custom built. Thanks again.

Re: Little finger stage III NA Dr Denkler Larkspur
Thanks. I like the one on the first page that you provided the link for better. It's exactly what I should pursue. One of these days perhaps I will go back to my physical therapist's office and see if they can make something like that. Probably I'll wait too long, just as I did in addressing my contracted finger in the first place. But I have a DEEP aversion to all things medical.

I also have a deep aversion to all things medical which is why I'm likely to risk radiotherapy in January. It's the best of not a great set of options we have. I can't wait any longer or the option will be lost.

Re: Little finger stage III NA Dr Denkler Larkspur
PIP joint is the middle joint of a finger. PIP is a medical term and stands for "Proximal Interphalangeal", see eg http://www.orthosports.com.au/hand_pip_injuries.html.

Stage IV NA Dr Denkler Larkspur
I had a Stage IV corrected by Kieth Denkler by NA 2+ years ago. Since I know what my hand looks like, I recognized it on his site :-) (http://www.plasticsurgerysf.com/scrapboo...k&UID=10039)
It needed some time to heal from a split produced by the straightening, and also quite a bit of physical therapy (it had been deflected for several years), but it's now holding pretty constant at (my estimate) a total deflection of 30%, almost all in the PIP joint. I use a finger splint similar to the one posted earlier every night and don't even know it's there. To me that 30% deflection is simply not worth mentioning. It doesn't interfere with anything and with the hand in normal relaxed mode (not straightened) you probably wouldn't notice anything wrong.
