Is there any information why Dupuytren's (and its associates) affect the feet (Ledderhose), hands (Dupuytren's) and penis (Peyronies)? What is the connection?

I was under the impression that DD and LD at least are classes of fibrosis disease, of which there are many other forms.

Hands, feet and shoulders take some mechanical strain, so at least there is some sort of connection associated perhaps with joints or ligaments or tendons. Also the fascia of the hands and feet are rather special tissues.

But, as you say, what is the connection, if any.

Perhaps a useful form of research could be why people with DD don't get fibrosis of the xxxxx. Pick xxxxx from one of the may other fibrosis diseases.
