Does the weather influence pain factors (summer vs winter)?
I was diagnosed in December 2008 with DD and I live in NY. We've had a very cold winter and I'm trying to see if there's any correlation between weather cycles. I know that when I run my hands under warm water or wrap my hand around a warm cup of tea, the pain symptoms seem to be somewhat relieved. I'm hoping that with Spring and Summer weather conditions I might find some relief.
Anybody have any thoughts or experiences with this?

Hi Barbara,
Its Mary again, we exchanged emails, oh, in January maybe. My husband and I spend the winter in Fl., spring and fall in NYC. Even in Fl. nothing makes my hand feel better than curling in around a cup of tea! Funny you mentioned that!

Ditto. Hmmmm - maybe there's a connection between tea and Dupuytren's?
Heat makes my hands ache temporarily but then it seems to help. Lifting luggage and using my hands a lot makes my palms ache. Cold doesn't seem to make a difference.

I was thinking if the weather was a factor that I'd have to consider retiring to a warmer climate (if I could)... I guess I'll just have to keep drinking tea for now.
