Has anyone experienced this with DC Disease?
Hello everyone, I have severe DC Disease in both hands, and I'm going in for a Palmer Fasciectomy next month. I have noticed in recent times that my hands peel like a sun burn does, and today, while pull starting a mower,..my skin came off leaving raw derma layer beneath, and my hand started to bleed. It looked a lot like when a blister breaks, but it wasn't blisters. My skin just ripped off from pulling the pull chord. Does anyone else have issues with peeling, or thick skin tearing off of their hands with DC Disease? Thank you for any help with this.

Hi Metzie,
the peeling of your skin is most likely not related to Dupuytren's. You should consult a doctor about it because it is quite unusual and might also affect healing after your fasciectomy.

Hi Metzie, you have as I recall previously had surgery on both hands for DC so maybe what you describe is related to the (scar) tissue in the healed areas. But as Wolfgang says your surgeon should be made aware of previous surgery and the conditions you describe. Best wishes SB

Hi Metzie,
I've had something like that peeling - to a lesser degree - and it has been around the scar tissue from the fasciectomy I had in my left hand, sort of where it has pulled the skin taut, and heavy use of my hand has caused small tears. I keep my hands well moisturised (when there aren't any tears or peeling) and that really helps.
